He chose to be born as a baby
His Father chose to send angels and a star
The only ones who heard His first cry
Were His mother and Joseph
And some animals
But the shepherds heard the angels and came
The wise men saw the star and came
And later thousands and then millions would hear
That Jesus had come – for us!

Jesus is born!

Dear God,
Thank you for sending Jesus to be born as a baby and also as the Savior of the World. Jesus, thank you for coming to earth with love for us, so we can have our sins forgiven.
Today in the city of David a Savior was born for you, who is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be the sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped tightly in cloth and lying in a manger.”
Suddenly there was a multitude of the heavenly host with the angel, praising God and saying:
Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and peace on earth to people he favors!
When the angels had left them and returned to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go straight to Bethlehem and see what has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”
Luke 2:11-15

Christmas Activity

Take time on Christmas to remember that Jesus is the reason that we celebrate this day.

  • Read Luke 2:1-20 as a family.
  • Turn off all the lights, light all your advent candles (or any candle will do!), and sing the song, Silent Night.
  • Consider baking a birthday cake for Jesus and singing Happy Birthday!
