THE MESSIAH IS JOY

WEEK OF DECEMBER 13

"Joy to the World, the Lord has come" is a line in a common Christmas song. When the angel of the Lord appeared to the shepherds, the angel said there was news of great joy.  Why should we be full of joy over the arrival of this baby boy who was born in a manger? The reason for Joy is in the fact that this baby was born a child but yet a King and Savior of the world.
Our "Joy to the World" is that there is now a way for our sins to be forgiven by this child that was born to us. Our hearts can be full of Joy because we know there is a Savior who loves us and offers us eternal life. That is the reason for us, and the whole earth to sing joyfully to God!

PRAYER

Dear God,
Thank you for sending Jesus to save the world and to forgive our sins.
Please help us fix our eyes on You so we can have the joy You promised to us.
Amen

Then she gave birth to her firstborn son, and she wrapped him tightly in cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.
