THE MESSIAH IS LOVE

WEEK OF DECEMBER 6

Have you ever received a gift that you didn't deserve? Maybe one year for Christmas you were really bad, yet someone still gave you a gift you really wanted? Maybe a year after you received that gift, it got old and you didn't want it anymore. The gifts we receive for Christmas will grow old. However, Jesus' love for us will never fade away. God has given us a gift we don't deserve - love. Love has come in the form of Jesus the Messiah.

Jesus is the Christmas gift we received even though we don't deserve it. John tells us that because of love, God sent his own Son down to Earth to live a perfect life, to die on the cross, and rise again. Because of this love, we now have access to Jesus, God, forgiveness of our sin, and enteral life in heaven with God. Jesus' love is the gift the keeps on giving!

Prayer

Dear God,
Thank you for loving us even when we don't deserve it. Thank you for sending Jesus to die on the cross for our sins. Help us experience your unconditional love today.
Amen

And the angel came to her and said, “Greetings, favored woman! The Lord is with you.” But she was deeply troubled by this statement, wondering what kind of greeting this could be. Then the angel told her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. Now listen: You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you will name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will have no end.”
Luke 1:28-33
